This is the album that got me addicted to MuteMath. This album has many good songs on it and as a whole, is definitely worth it. Admittedly, there are some songs that do sound a little similar and things, but all in all, it's a great buy. It's a little different then previous albums of theirs, but with a new guitarist in place, it's a great movement in a cool, new direction.
  • Disappointed yet again.

The first time I heard MuteMath was Oct 2005 at the glasshouse. I fell in love. Reset and their self titled are amazing. truley amazing. Unfortunately I can't say the same about their last two albums. MuteMath really need to find themselves again. Not this unorginal sound with main stream undertones. This album did not grow on me. Makes me so sad. I thought MuteMath was going to flourish. Instead they downgraded.
  • Gary Cherone Rules!!!

Whether he's singing for extreme, mute math or vh.....even when rapping 311-style for Earthsuit....Cherone brings it every time! Just kiddin'....OS is hit & miss.....why do bands have to leave Christianity to try and gain worldly acceptance? Allies and Prytania are very good, as good if not better than anything they've done in the past, the rest is either too messy, too noisy, or too 70s......and the recording sounds horrible, they need a producer.....get Brendan obrien or somebody next time.....
  • Awesome like every other album!!

MuteMath has changed A LOT. I mean, this album is good, just nothing like their 1st or even 2nd album. Their first album is still their best. Best tracks on this album are All or Nothing, Equals, and In No Time. But hey, these guys are still amazingly talented. Just get back to your roots!

I don't think I've ever been let down this hard by a band before. When I listened to the album from front to back for the first time here's what I got from it: crazy amount of reverb and chorus effects, Paul shouts through most of it, crunchy guitar, loud, lots of breakdowns, drum-driven, 70's, boogy-woogy, bluesy, a hint of spiritual inspiration. And kind of annoying. It's not bad (neither is it particularly good) but more importantly, it's not mutemath as I know them. Listen to "control" or "peculiar people" (that's an oldie for them) or "typical" from previous albums and then listen to this. It's just not the same band. I get that bands change and go through transitional periods and whatnot, but it's just not mutemath. Sub-par by their standards. However, if you came on to the mutemath scene within their last two albums I'm sure you completely disagree with me. I just remember them when NO ONE knew who they were after they opened for some band I don't even remember from years ago...and the change is just really really radical and disappointing.
  • Best Yet!

I am a big fan of Mutemath because of their focus on what's important. They have really matured in their style and delivery. The tracks are very well done!
  • It's incredible in my honest opinion

Mutemath has a variety of fans. They play a variety of music. they have a variety of influences. and a variety of ways to express their music. That being said, each album seem so different from the album prior to it. And when fans get glued to a certain sound, they are disappointed if the new sound doesn't fit what they had anticipated...more of the same. But under all the styles and genres, Mutemath is the same. Amazing musicians who love to connect and perform and make amazing, jaw-dropping music! They have done it again! No, it's not like their first self-titled album, it's not like Armistice, but Odd Soul is still a masterpiece!
