This is quite simply one of the greatest collections of American Popular Song recorded in decades. After the successes of "The Art of Excellence" and "Bennett-Berlin" and with the seeds of the Bennett Renaisance established, Tony Bennett once against collaborated with Jorge Calliendri to create one of his least hearalded yet greatest contributions as an artist to the public. Who else but perhaps Sinatra or Bobby Darin could sing with such power and longing in that magnificent opening track "When Do Bells Ring For Me?" and also sing with such unbelivable optomisum and tenderness as on "The Folks That Live On The Hill"? A triumph that deserves to be revisited by the critics and the public soon.
