This is a great collection of some potentially difficult pieces to find, particularly the Hovhaness, but, as the title says, I expected more, particularly after seeing the artist's bio. The weak point fopr me is in technique, specifically fingers. I turned it off after hearing parts of "Picnic."

This CD has a great set of pieces. The Creston Sonata, Picnic on the Marne, the Hartley Bari Sonata. This is a fantastic CD to buy if you're looking to have recordings to reference to, however there are better recordings of many of these piece. As a saxophone player, I wasn't impressed with his rendition of the Creston Sonata (Op. 19). So to the average listener, this would be a fine buy. To a picky music afficionado, I might be inclined to say... no.
