Dennis DeYoung and James Young show us a glimpse of what Styx will become. Man of Miracles has more hidden Styx treasures. Worth a listen for any Styx fan.
  • The Best of the Original Line up

From 1972-1975 Styx released five albums as the original line up. Of those five, this one had the most charming, straightforward rock and roll. Although it didn't have the hot 100 entries of Equinox from 1975 or Styx II from 1973, it was truly a lost gem. Highlights include the true to its name "Rock and Roll Feeling", "Just Having a Ball", the autobiographical "A Man Like Me", and of course the title track reminiscent of Dungeons and Dragons. Full of colorful vocal performances as well as impressive guitar riffs, it put out a sound most audiences never realized Styx had. Dare I say even Led Zeppelin fans wouldn't put down their headphones disappointed after a first listen. Anyone who passes on this masterpiece is missing out.
