This album turned a lot of people off initially because of the “non Madonnaesque” elements. These are what make this album the good time it is!
Saw her in concert with a friend twice for this tour. Each show had a different vibe even though it was exactly the same show, technically.
Nobody Knows Me is a standout non single. Again, it’s sort of got that 2000’s “we’re in the beginning stages of doing some really crazy stuff with auto tune” feel to it. But, now that music has gotten much worse, I think people might appreciate the album more. It was a little ahead of its time (In Madonna fashion) and I feel it still stands the test of time.
Great and underrated work on this album!

This is truly one of her best albums! I always come back to it, because it was so fresh and different at that time. Bravo!
This album caused a lot of problems in Madonna's career. This album was, and is still, pretty controversial because of all the political things that Madonna is singing about. Madonna has said herself that she wrote these songs during a time that she was angry with the world because she felt that certain things needed to change. It was considered a commercial flop during the time that it came out and Madonna herself was not very happy with it. It is still known today as one of her worst albums but I really enjoy it. I think the songs are catchy and have really good meanings behind them.
love this album. totally different then all of her other releases. the acoustic electronic mashup sound is unique and engaging. nothing fails and Hollywood are great sounds and both should have been radio hits
This was sadly her worst album as sales go.
However, it is the defining album of Madonna being real singing by a campfire.
With a dj and a drum machine and a blue tooth head set while passing out smores.
But in all seriousness its sadly a lost gem in her catalogue.
Brilliant and maintains relevance over her other work.
Its honest and endearing.
In a word - messy!
These 5 star reviews are a complete joke. This album is unlistenable and definitely cannot stand up to her otherwise pretty stellar back catalog.
Leave the ‘rapping’ to the experts. I never need to hear about your double shotte latte again…..yikes!
Underrated and Underplayed

A true album for the head. Whenever your feeling down and need a sort of self-confidence "booster" I recommend this album. I feel empowered after listening to it and better to deal with whatever problem I'm faced with.
This album takes everything P.C. and throws it out the window. Such a bold move that showed so much skill from Madonna, and her beats are incredible.
