  • The Joy of being real

I'll admit it, I am a diehard fan of the Choir. When this album came out I rushed to order it and then played it for several of my friends and then ordered it for my friends. What strikes me as different about this album when compared to other Choir albums is the sheer honesty. This is not your usual radio-play-seeking Christian music. Sure, the album is more mellow than Kisssers and Killers, but the lyrics are as straightforward as you can get. Brooding, questioning, and ultimately trusting and relying upon God. It is a beautiful snapshot of reality and grace.

If you can't budget $7.99, at least buy this one song - Mercy Will Prevail. Stirring.

This album makes me happy, I love the quality and content on this piece. Heard in Paiste Magazine cd sampler and had to get it. Keep it up...

Had never heard of The Choir until "Nobody Gets a Smooth Ride" appeared on a Paste Magazine sampler a couple of years back. After hearing that I bought this on iTunes and still listen to it on a regular basis. Not one bad track and overall one of the best albums I've bought in years! Oh, and the line in "Fine Fun Time" about Husker Du being the most influential rock n' roll group is dead-on!

A friend of mine gave me this album to listen to a year ago, wow. I don't like any of their other stuff, but this album is still today one of my favorites. I listen to something from it every single day. "Nobody Gets a Smooth Ride" and "Fine Fun Time" are your pop-rock staples. "Terrible Mystery" is a great story that I love to hear every time. "How I Wish I Knew" is a simple acoustic ballad with lyrics that act like brushstrokes on a dark canvas. I love the guitar in "Mercy", reminds me of the less pop styled Sixpence greats from the early days. And finally, "To Rescue Me" has the best line: "The savior calls my name, When I feel most ashamed, He comes to take the blame, And rescue me." I generally listen to harder stuff like Chevelle, Blindside, Flyleaf, etc, but I LOVE this album.

They wrote beautiful songs in the vain of Snow Patrol. It is nice to see them keeping with the times. The songs are from the heart! Nice job fellows...
  • Music... smooth as Milk and Honey

The Choir have outdone themselves again, true to the Choir sound, yet a new earthy sound. Each song seems to flow together so seemlessly as if each song is just another added verse. Thank you Derri for remaining true to your roots...Your true fans are still out here & you have stirred my soul again.
  • Best album to date

The Choir hasn't had a great album since Circle Slide. This is definitely their best. It does suffer from lack-luster production on some tracks like "Mercy Will Prevail" and "She's Alright" which could have been strong hits in my opinion. Over all the album is top notch for these veteran Christian alt-rockers. The title track and "She's Alright", "Terrible Mystery", and "Mercy Will Prevail" are the best tracks on this release. I strongly recommend OHMHF to anyone who's looking for an alternative to the mainstream Christian music that's out there right now, or anyone who's looking for some nice mellow songs with positive lyrics. Good Job guys!

"Flap your wings", the previous album not available on iTunes, was ok. This renews my long-time affection for the Choir. My favorite album is probably Circle Slide, but this is becoming a close second. Marc Byrd (Common Children & God of Wonders) produced and played with them. What a fresh sound they have now. My two favorite songs are "How I wish I knew" & Mercy will prevail". Always candid and earnest, the Choir is my favorite band.
  • Dreamy, melodic, earthy, alterna-rock

The boys in the Choir do it again. Never ones to be afraid to write about anything, this album continues that trend. It asks the hard questions about faith, life, and love. Perhaps more stripped down then previous material, it still hasn't left my player and I got it in April.
