  • Lesser known tunes worth grabbing

A tip to those who come for a few of Styx’s huge hits but don’t know their work too well: take a bit of a chance, don’t grab Come Sail Away and Renegade and go (though those are great tunes). Take a listen to "Light Up," "Suite Madame Blue," "Blue Collar Man," and certainly "The Grand Illusion." (The message of rejecting celebrity worship — a reasonable interpretation — of "The Grand Illusion," is as meaningful now as then, maybe more.) A personal favorite is "Fooling Yourself.” Great stuff from their 1970s albums, very worth the price. Their 1970s work is more catchy than Boston and Led Zeppelin — two bands I do love — and worth your buck and change if you like the edginess of "Renegade" and the epic rock beauty of "Come Sail Away.”

Perfect album and still doesn't have another 20 of Styx's song that made the "Billboard's Top 50!" I grew up listening to them and went to every concert they gave in OKC and Norman, OK! Awesome music for my high school days. Listen to the word's in "Lights." He's telling the story of his friends and family telling him to slow down and consider doing something else with his life before he burns out. He's telling them how he loves it and how he loves and has to have the spotlights shining on him. This is a must have album!

  • What was that noise?

At about 1:10 of the song Lady, right at the end of the second verse (right after "...so shy, like a child who has grown..."), there's what sounds like an actual belching noise. I don't remember that from my many listenings of this song on the radio, on the album, or at the many after-school dances of my youth in the 70s. How do I go about petitioning iTunes for either a clean copy or a refund?

This collection is AWESOME. It includes some of their wooden nickel recordings, and a majority of their A&M years. Nothing by anyone can beat come sail away. Lady is a great song too, probably their best wooden nickel song. Boy all these reviews from 11 & 13 year olds. I thought I was the youngest styx fan out there @ 19. I'm so proud of the select few in my generation who love Styx. But they probably can't say that they have each one of Styx LP's on vinyl. All the way from Styx I to Kilroy was here and caught in the act.
  • Back when music rocked!

Yeah, I'm 13, and Styx is my favorite band. I laugh in the face of 1 star reviews 'cause they worship Eminem and...the rest. Media as we know it is in a rut. What, with A.N.Τ Farm, Kidz Bop, Katy Perry and such, I wonder if I was born in the wrong generation, as a rock fan. Sure, my friends make fun of me for liking "1900's" music, but it's me who's laughing, both at the stupid lyrics of their songs, and 'cause they're missing out! Now that I've bored you with my frusteratingly long review, buy the album! Every song you'll hear, you'll fall in love with! Down with rap! Up with Styx!
