  • If you want a nice ballet primer, this is the place to start...

The pieces on this album make up some of the key elements in any NYCB season. If you want to get an idea of what you can expect from the best ballet company in the world, buy this album. My favorite on this album is the Four Temperaments. Must have if you're into ballet, or want to find somewhere to start.

I was lucky enough to work across the street from Lincoln Center, and the NYCB is my all time favorite company. I'd go see them every chance I got. Now that I have moved away, I miss that. But I remember the ballets, especially "The Four Temperaments" (which usually featured my favorite ballerina, Merrill Ashley) and "Serenade" (Hair up? Hair down?). And the NYCB orchestra was actually very good. This takes me back.

This music is great to listen or dance to if you are a hard-core ballerina like me. If you are not a dancer of classical music, this is a great album to relax and calm the mind with! Enjoy!!
