I guess I'm gonna age myself here...but I went to their concert in Seattle for their Cornerstone Album & I can't believe this is the STYX I heard then!!! I only stumbled on this looking up locomotive breath (Jethro Tull) and saw that Styx did it?!?! Wasn't bad considering Jethro Tull has a totally different style? But I listen to Styx ALL THE TIME and was really set back with this Album?! I'm all for trying new things but these guys are SOOO talented and I was really shocked?! I saw Heart at the Moore Theater in Seattle & it was an acoustic concert....AWESOME!! Sorry I can't say I like this after seeing Cornerstone concert & knowing their talent :( Bummer cuz I totally LOVE the classics & Styx is DEFINITELY on that list!! But not here!! Too Bad they didn't use their FULL potential here :( SORRY GUYS!!

Wow this was a God awful album. I was kind of excited to hear new recordings from them since there had been nothing but a rehashing of the same old Styx hits live since Cyclorama. I was even interested in hearing their spin on some great songs. Do yourself a favor and don't buy this. The worst point in the album was a draw between their cover of the Beatles and the horrible remake of Locomotive Breath. JY's guitar work on it was good but the version of the great Tull classic was so comical and horrible like watching the three stooges brain each other then get run over by a train. There was nothing really redeeming about this album other than picking it up for $1.99 at a thrift store in the first place.
  • It's a cover album!

Everyone, this is a cover album, not an album of original material. This is Styx's take on songs they were influence by, so stop hating on it because you don't know what type of album this is.
  • It just collects dust....

I've always supported this band with or without DeYoung, but this stuff just doesn't cut it with me. With a few exceptions, it just feels lost and like a ship without a rudder.
  • good albumish

They stole "I am the Walrus" from the "Magical Mystery Tour" album by the Beatles!
  • They should've hanged it up long ago...

Here's a band that is running on empty. Hard to pick what song is the worst, but "I Don't Need No Doctor" almost wins that dubious honor. This band started to hit the skids way back with Mr. Roboto. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse....
  • haters go do something else please........

I listened to this and although its not a styx album its better than a single star and people with this you should be ashamed crap for liking a styx album with out mr. dramatic Dennis DeYoung are idiots tommy shaw and James "J.Y." Young were more to my taste music wise anyway. Take this for what it is a very cool couple songs done by a cool band and leave it a that.....

These guys still know how to really rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know Dennis DeYoung is missed badly but Lawrence Gowan fitted into the band nicely!! Todd Sucherman"s drumming is just awesome especially on "I Can See For Miles" If Keith Moon were still around I bet he would give Todd his congrats in a big way!!!!!!!!! I can't believe how Todd sounds like Keith in a lot of ways!!!
  • They keep getting better and better

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!! This album blew my mind! Locomotive breath eas AMAZING! This proves to all you people who think Styx can't do anything without deyoung, that they rock 10X harder without him!
