Reviews

  • Not what I expected from such a great band

Styx have been one of my favorite bands for a long time. I consider them to be one of the top ten, if not top 5, American rock bands ever. Just recently, I decided out of curiosity to check out their early material before they made it big. When I heard this album I couldn't believe how bad this was. It has 3 great songs Witch Wolf, Young Man, and the title track, and then the rest of the material ranges from bad to really bad. There is a tune on here entitled "As Bad As This," which starts off as a nice little acoustic number, but then morphs into something shockingly horrendous. I can't believe believe a band as good as Styx recorded something that's, well, "As Bad as This."

I know dennis deyoung hates this record, but i think its way better than all the new music out there currently. Styx is one of the most underrated band ever!
