The Crowe/Doyle Songbook, Vol. III

I believe Russell and Alan started making music together since Robin Hood. I love their version of Beautiful Girls, which they should release a single or something. Also, Russell and Danielle's voices match very nicely. I love it:)

Too Far Gone and Love Is Impossible are favorites but the entire album is great. Danielle Spencer, Russell Crowe's wife, harmonizes beautifully and adds a yearning sweetness that tugs at the heart. I am new to the music of Crowe, Doyle and Spencer, and look forward to hearing more of their work.

Lacks some of the the spark/fun of Crowe-Doyle's live performances. Songs were beautifully written and their voices blended well but I don't know...it just didn't tug at the heartstrings they way some of their past works have. Worth getting, to be sure, but it wasn't quite what I was hoping for given their other collaborations.

Tight harmonies, minimal mix, rich lyrics... Simply foot tappin' good music.

Such massive improvement from Crowe's earlier work both lyrically and vocally (of course it helps that the melodious voices of Alan Doyle and Danielle Spencer were cleverly placed uptop his own). But honestly, this album is a beautifully quiet yet poignant piece of true artistry. Together, Crowe and Doyle make a perfect song-writing duo, producing the most heartrenching and relatable lyrics coupled with a beautiful sound that is both melancholic and uplifting at the same time. The best example of such harmonious magic lies within the first track from this digital album, "Too Far Gone." The use of some slightly more upbeat songs (at least in the fact that they include more drums) such as "Killing Song" and "Angel of the Cross" serve to make the album more sonically balanced. Incredible work, yet understated and simple in the most satisfying way, this album will needle its way into the hearts of both those who are emotionally open and those who find it difficult to indulge in such a foolish thing as emotion.

This is terrific ! Choice of songs, sound everything stirs me to my inner being. Alan and Russell are a match made in heaven. Adding Danielle is pure beauty, her voice complements every song she sings. Also love her music. Thank you for sharing this beautiful music with your fans, we are the better for it..Hope there will be many more. I have not stopped playing since I bought them.
