I recently discovered J.J. Cale and am very fond of his early 70's music. Listened to some of Road to Escondido and was not really impressed. This album however is much in line w/ Cale's earlier work. It has a catchy flow and is an overall great listen. Well worth a look if you want to hear some newer Cale music to round out the collection.
Welcome back Mr. Cale

Love everything he's ever done and this is a terrific new album;
I especially like Oh Mary and Old Friend.

I've been listening to this album for over a year! I don't know what took itunes so long, but this is one of the best albums of all time! Seriously! I listen to all kinds of music, and this is just one of those albums you play over and over and over! Your friends won't get sick of you, cause they'll want to hear it over and over and over again too! Don't get bogged down with all the fiddle faddle written in the main review-just buy it, listen to it, and you won't be dissappointed-I promise you!
Mr.Cale sounds as good as,1971 Naturally, so sit back. smoke a number and it'll bring you to a calm place with good vibes by J.J. And he really don't need E.C. He's fine all by himself. The voice has'nt change one ioda, so thank you J.J. And no disresrect to E.C. Almost 40 years of recording, still great.
