This is a pretty good album. Not as good as Gilmour's first solo album and more pop oriented but more memorable, with only one instrumental. Gilmore is in very good form here as a vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. The lyrics are the album's weakest point. My favorite songs are Until We Sleep, Murder and All Lovers Are Deranged, this last song featuring lyrics from Pete Townsend. I like this better than any of Roger Water's solo albums and anything that Pink Floyd did without Waters. Some big name musicians on this, like Jon Lord and Steve Winwood. An enjoyable album.

Truly a great album. Murder is classic Gilmour and to hear the bass lead is pure beauty and is a tribute to Ronnie Lane.

If anything bad can be said about this 2nd solo album is the predominance of the 80's production sound which was inescapable in that musical era. The songs are very solid not much filler. It even includes some collaborations with Pete Townsend: All Lovers Are Deranged, Love In the Air. My favorites are Blue Light, Murder, You Know I'm Right, Cruise, Out of the Blue. Overall a solid album with a great backing band including Jeff Porcaro on drums and even Steve Winwood thrown in for good measure. A must have for any Floyd or Gilmour fan.
