  • Excellent Live Album!

I was a huge Firefall fan from the first release and thought they were always underrated b/c most people judged them based on their singles - but true fans who heard their album cuts realized they were so much more. I was never a fan of the post-Rick Roberts/Larry Burnett era - but must concede this is great stuff! It's even better than the live Firefall CD from their heyday. Obviously having Larry Burnett and David Muse back in the fold helped bring back that old sound. What was most surprising was the vocals for the Rick Roberts tunes. If you didn't know it wasn't him but did know it was the band 30 years post "Just Remember I Love You" you'd probably just assume it's an older version of Roberts singing. The set list is excellent and there's a great vibe from the band and the audience. A very worthwhile and fun album for any Firefall fan!

While all Firefall fans would love a high quality recording from the band's 70's glory days (not the terrible recordings listed on iTunes), this will do in the meantime. This concert recording from April of 2008 only misses Rick Roberts (too ill to perform but was in attendance for the concert-hence the missing star in my rating) and the late Michael Clarke. The playing is tight, the vocals are terrific and in keeping with the original versions, and all of their "Greatest Hits" are here. It is great to hear Larry Burnett playing with the band again!! If you are a true Firefall fan, you'll be happy to hear them again! This will be a welcome addition to your collection!! Hopefully there will a truly good live recording from their glory days "Someday Soon"!!
