Essential listening. A must have for any music collection. Defines cool for rock & roll the way Kind of Blue defines cool for jazz.

Back in the day when my friends and I were planning to see the next hardcore band coming through The Metroplex, JJ Cale was my secret love. Eric Clapton can't touch him, he's too cool for school. Playin' in the Street is one of my all time faves.

This album is one of the greatest albums of all time! J.J. is an under acknowledged guitar genius and his music is as pure as it gets! One of Eric's greatest achievements along with Cream, The Dominoes & Blind Faith, was shining a light on this great musician.

JJ's style can't be imitated, the slow bluesy beat is where it's at, been hooked since 1970. "Really" is one of his best, "try it you'll like it"!

There were at least three cuts off this LP that were staples of early 70's free-form progressive rock stations, and each of them hold up after all these years: Lies, Right Down Here, and Going Down. Check out that steady groove...like a slow moving freight train that never seems to end. Awesome stuff. Worth a purchase.

Excellent, mellow rock.....very catchy licks. This might be J.J.'s best album; groovy hooks.....great early 70s rock. Clapton knew a good song writer when he heard one.
