I have loved this record since it came out. Loved the first album, too (this is NOT their first, but their second). Following this album, they signed with Warner Bros and went pop and sold a lot of records, but this one is a rock album. I don't mean Black Sabbath rock, I mean their own brand of folky, funky rock (some beautiful tunes on here too, but not schmaltzy). No syrupy strings here, just your basic rock instruments (the "lead guitar" however, is Dash Crofts' fuzzified mandolin -- sounds killer!). I saw them live just after this came out; it was just the two of them, and they brought the house down. As a musician myself, I'm sure this is who they wanted to be musically, but they were forced into the pop stuff to stay in the game. If you've never heard this gem, you don't know Seals and Crofts.

What people forget that this is their first album. It has more of the country elements mixed with rock. It may not have the same impact as later albums, but this sold well enough to lead to other more commercial albums. I bought this as an LP and shared it with many of my college friends who loved it. So let's chalk it up that you do not like this one. We can disagree without dumping on someone else's joy. Personally I always loved this album. If you like it or just a few songs, buy them.

Daniel Daniel Daniel... are we talking about the same album here? This album is not very good... The music on this album is boring & is just not inspiring... These guys proved later on in their career just how good they really were musically... but this album just doesn't do it for me unfortunately... You would definitely have to be a die-hard Seals & Crofts fan to say that this album is good... 2 stars & that's about it...
