  • BRILLIANT!

I'd like to think that this album would have earned Double Platinum even if the core of the band hadn't fallen from the sky just as it was ready for release. As it is, however, perhaps that tragedy brought even more ears to Lynyrd Skynyrd's genius. Steve and Cassie Gaines were friends of my family, and this is a special album for their family, since it's the only studio recording Steve did with the band. Mind you, he's on all their live releases from their second album on. They made a difference. Listen...they will show you the difference.

This definitely up there with skynyrds best. By the is Ronnie the one singing ain't no good life?

It is a shame that Steve, Ronnie, and Cassie died in the plane crash, but they didn't make this album for you guys to fret over a stupid album cover. Just enjoy the music like they wanted us to.
  • The highest Southern Rock has attained. Real fans will love the Fresno show.

They were so tight and flawless at the end - what could have been.... The quality is poor, but I absolutely savor those last live recordings. Real fans can appreciate - much improved musicianship from One More From the Road, a year earlier. Billy (in Fresno) on You Got that Right? gives me the chills - hell, all 7 and the Honketts too. I wonder where they would have gone with Steve adding other dimensions and maturity? The last great album.
  • A pleasant find

Yes, the live tracks are not quite as sharp as the cuts on "One More From The Road". But it's great to hear anything that Steve Gaines was part of. There are some black and white clips on you tube of live Street Survivor tracks, from a concert at Asbury Park in July of 77. I would love to hear some cleaned up copies of that. Maybe the next box set. The original versions of That Smell and You Got That Right are a pleasant surprise. Enjoy

In the plane crash, lead singer Ronnie Van Zant was also killed.

This is one of their best albums, too bad Ronnie died before he could make even better ones. I Never Dreamed is one of my favorites off this one, along with That Smell, Whats Your Name, & I Know A Little. Skynyrd Today is not the same, but when they jam on these older tunes it takes you back.

One of the best Skynyrd albums and one of the best rock albums. This is one of the best Skynyrd line ups of all time and the solos are great.

This is a fantasic album, but they should have left off the live stuff. The live material is not up to par. It is not bearable to hear.

I still have the original album jacket with flames and the LP when Skynyrds plane went down in Florida. Steve Gaines, Cassie Gaines, and Ronnie Van Zant died but the rest survived the crash. Legend says the planes fuel tank was purposely not filled all the way. A legend died and the rest is history. Check out "One More Time." It's the best.
