Oh Happy Day: The Best of The Edwin Hawkins Singers (Remastered)

I remember the first time hearing OH HAPPY DAY - on Top 40 Rock n Roll radio, no less! I was a young Christian and totally amazed that such a powerful Christian song had made it to the Top 40. It has always been a source of encouragement since then.

Tracks 1,7 and 9 say it all. This gospel singing ensemble is the very best on our planet.

Edwin Hawkins is, quite arguably, ahead of his time. He has rewritten the music for hymns causing them to continue to live on in the hearts of Christians all over the world. I strongly encourage you to purchase this album and listen carefully to all of the songs. You will come to love Edwin's music as much as I do. I have all of his albums. By the way, a discography can be found on Wikipedia. Edwin is a member of Love Center here in Oakland pastored by his brother, Walter Hawkins, in my opinion, one of the greatest gospel song writers of our time.

I had this album on vinyl, then on cassette, then on CD, and now of course it's on my iPod/iPhone; I LOVE this album! I love classic gospel - testifying and letting loose in praise - and this is a GREAT collection of songs.

#3 & #5 are my absolute favorite songs. They would be great to buy.

This is a excellent classic gospel album. just buy it. they don't make them like this anymore. which is very sad when you think about it.
