Not until recently did I really start getting into Prince. Heard a few tracks but, never full albums. So I decided to listen to this one after Purple Rain. I absolutely loved it. Won’t go track by track but, “The Ballad of Dorothy Parker” was one of my favorites off this album. There’s just something so unique about the feeling of that song. Classic album overall that got me listening to Prince’s discography now.

All of his music is like no other, very creative individual. I miss him and so does the universe. R. I. P my bro.

This is arguably the best album ever produced. No dis to iTunes, but if you have a chance to hear it on vinyl, you will definitely be blown away. If you are not a Prince fan, this is the album that will make you a true fan. The talent is obvious and bold. The first song, "Sign O the Times", puts on display his bass-leading minimalist style while singing on topics that are just as relevant in 2017 as they were in 1987. (Nuclear War, AIDS, Drug Use, Gangs, Technology, etc.) This dude was ahead of his time. Songs like "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" are so dark, smooth, and jazzy. It makes you feel as if you're in a small smoke-filled jazz club packed with mysterious patrons. "Starfish & Coffee" is just different. I mean the dude has a musical IQ that's off the charts. "If I Was Your Girlfriend" is one of the greatest songs ever written. It is timeless and can hold up with anything playing on the radio today. The beat is addictive and his crafty lyrics make you see why this short guy had all of the best women. For example: If I was your girlfriend, would you run to me if somebody hurt you, even if that somebody was me. BOOM! And "Adore" one of the greatest slow jams ever created. If you love real music, Sign O The Times is a must have. Its critical.

    Good album
  • Track sounds levels are all over/quality bad on some

Five stars for the music without a doubt, but if you can, skip this download and buy the CD. It's sad that someone cared so little about this that Apple just allowed this for sale without first checking it. The sound levels vary from track to track. From the high end to the worst possible sound. It's blatantly obvious from Track 1 to Track 2. Don't fall for corporate trickery

I love this cd from beginning to end. He gives you everthing from social issues to religion and everything in between. And ending the cd with Adore leaves me wanting more, so I hit replay at least once!!
