I nearly fell asleep.... But in a good way!

I lost track of time and didn’t realize the album was dropping in the middle of the night for me. I’ve been pumped pretty much all year wondering if NCT would do an all member, end of the year collaboration like they did in 2018 and 2020. And much to my happiness, they did. I legit was so impatient waiting for it once it was officially announced back end of summer/beginning of fall. So when I got a YouTube notification that said NCT was doing a countdown live in an hour, I was pumped. The clips they shared of the songs were all great and I made a mental list of which ones I wanted to get. And then the live ended and even though it was a few minutes before it was supposed to be released, I went to the iTunes Store and searched them and was surprised when it was there, ready for purchase! Since I’d bought the single Universe (Let’s Play Ball) when it had dropped a few days earlier, the rest of the album was only 8.70, I didn’t have to rebuy the song like with other repackaged SM albums this year. And I had a few hours to pass before SHINee’s Onew was to do his YouTube live, so I listened to my newly purchased NCT2021 album.
With high anticipation, I listened and it wasn’t what I was expecting. I thought it’d be really upbeat, making me wanna hop outta my seat and have an at home dance party. But it was quite the opposite. It made me wanna fall asleep, but in a good way! The songs were all very chill and the guys vocals were freaking amazing. Since it was the middle of the night, they were helping me fall asleep. I mean, earlier this year, I’d fallen asleep to SHINee’s Don’t Call Me Album and Key’s Bad Love Album because the vocals and music were just so peaceful to listen to. And oh my freaking gosh, the last sing on the NCT2021 album is literally beautiful to listen to! Hearing all them singing together like a harmonic, angelic choir was definitely something I wanted to hear since I became a fan last year.
I ended up not falling asleep after I finished listening to the album, the catchy chorus of Universe (Let’s Play Ball) kept playing in my head, keeping me from falling taking a nap between lives lol.
All in all, it wasn’t what I was expecting, I’d wanted more fast “dancey” songs but the albums is amazing to listen to and I have no regrets buying it because they gave me the thing I’d wanted to hear the most, their voices (and all their voices singing together in one song at the same time lol).
You wanna dance, pop in NCT2020. You wanna relax, pop in NCT2021. 😁
