I heard from you all that you loved Hairspray, but you might have to wait a little while, like a few years, then you can get the album.

  • So many memories

This show means so much to me, it was the first experience I ever had being in a play, and I have never had so much fun. I played The first Dynamite, and the one little solo I had was just so exciting to do. I would suggest hairspray to anyone.
  • Awesome

This show is amazing. I went and saw Hairspray at a high school in Massachusetts and it was spectacular , though Broadway would've been better. We just voted at my school (I'm in Jr. High) and we're doing Hairspray as our school musical. I'm not thrilled to do it, I'd eater do Aladdin, but the show is wonderful, so I'm positive the experience will be great! This soundtrack really showcases true actors/actresses seeing as how, while they were singing, they were using their character voices. That can be very difficult to accomplish so kudos to them. If they sound nasally to you, that's why. They're using character voices in their songs. The movie version is great, but I recommend this Original Cast. :)

This show is amazing and the music is amazing. The actors aren't just singing like in the movie, but taking on a character's voice and hiding behind the characters. The story behind the music is amazing too!!
  • It's not the voices from the movie

  • Shush

    By Gundygirl123
Y'all need to shush about these people not being able to sing. It's called character voice. They wouldn't have been cast on Broadway if they sucked, and I'd like to see you try to go play Tracy in a character voice while sounding like a freaking angel. So shush. If you're considering buying this, take my advice: 2007 movie cast may sound perfect, but close your eyes and listen to this cast- cant you just picture the characters. Consider that. Sorry about that rant, as an actor myself, people like that anger me. -the theatre dork
  • I love this Musical!

I have never had the pleasure of seeing the musical live, I have seen the movie a lot of times though and I thought that was the best it could be portrayed, but Matthew Morrison is an excellent link Larkin, as well as marissa Janet winoker is an excellent Tracy. Nice!
