It's rare you find an album where every song is not only enjoyable, but pure brilliance. Seriously, not a bad song on this treasure. Definitely the best album in her catalog.

This album should be on every top 10 list from the 90s. Each song is epic.

I bought this album when it came out and I still love it 17 years later. Every song is magical.

I in general have a rule of thumb to never give 5 stars to things. This Album is officially my first. I wound up with it somehow when it came out and just couldn't get enough of it. It's the most candid, energetic, progressive jazz rock of 90's that I can think of and that when I was in Highschool trying to swallow all music possible. I am pretty sure her producer deserves a lot of credit for this one.

This album is some of the best music ever. Fiona Apple is a song writing genius, Jon Brion's production is crazy good, and the entire package is pure gold. The focused ferocity in these songs has helped me cope with my own anger issues and I have Fiona's thunderous alto voice and cut-throat lyrics to thank!

Having not listened to this album for awhile and now being blown away by it's impact, I felt compelled to add my voice to the chorus of those singing its praises. The review by Vinny_P says it much more eloquently that I could, but the combination of Apple's voice and lyrics, and Brion's production added up to an album whose songs frequently give me goosebumps with their emotional power and musical brilliance.

It never gets old. Everything really comes together perfectly on this album. It's truly one of the greatest compositions of our lifetime.

Go fiona apple! this work of art, better known as an album, has earned its place as my favorite album of 1999. I really was like three when this came out, but I just know it has to be. In comparison to Tidal this is what I have to say: Tidal contains some of the best fiona songs ever like shadowboxer and sleep to dream, but it was extremely spotty. I felt like after track 5 the album was over( except for Never Is A Promise). There was nothing to greatly interesting. That said this album is just that, an album. What I mean is that it isnt just a bunch of songs thrown together and it can be listened to beginning to end. There is not on song on WTP that isn't great! That said there aren't as many masterpeices as with tidal( with the exception of On the Bound, Paper Bag, and The Way Things Are). Sorry for all the back and forth writing to anyone reading this.
