Thomas Rhett is the perfect example of what modern country music is; poppy. After continued success with his first two albums, and a male vocalist of the year award, "Life Changes" will not disappoint traditional Rhett fans. I like that he keeps his traditional catchy pop country tunes with "Craving You", "Sixteen", and "Drink a Little Beer". Most of my time with this album will be spent on the first 5 songs though. Some on this album go WAY too far into the pop genre though, those i will probably skip. Regardless, what many listeners refuse to hear is that just because a genre, or an artist, has a more poppy sound doesnt make it bad. There are many songs on here that are terrifically written and are good on the ears. This album does not disappoint and you should enjoy it

First of all I need to say that I am not a "country girl" and definitely not the biggest fan of country but when I heard Thomas Rhett sing Unforgettable on the Today Show I instantly feel in love with his music and had to hear more. I purchased the album and have had it on repeat getting ready for work, on the way to work, sneaking it into work and on the way home. I'm so impressed, I love the catchy beat each song has along with the meaningful lyrics. I even purchased tickets to his concert. Thomas Rhett you've turned this non-country Florida girl into a huge fan of yours and I can't wait to hear what's next!
  • Should be under pop.

I like Thomas Rhett for what he is. Catchy country-pop. Though this album is only like half good. You're better off just sticking with the singles, the rest of the album isn't anything special.

I can listen to this album over and over and I still love it. I can listen to Grave on repeat for my entire work day and never get sick of it. Maybe all of the songs aren't true country, but that comes with the territory of younger generations being interested in country music now. There are songs on here for the older crowd and you get crowd. People just need to get over the new "pop" country songs. Almost every country artist is changing their sound. Now a days people aren't happy unless they have something to complain about. This album WILL win many awards!!!!

Sure his songs may not be traditional country songs. But that’s what makes a great artist. The ability to sing in just more than one genre or sub genre. Times are changing and music is changing along with it and that’s great. Each genre of music has its own special attribute and to be able to mix several genres into one song creates a masterpiece. And if you only like traditional country then just stick to that. There is no need to write bad reviews for an insanely talented artist. Thomas works so hard. He is one of the few artists left that still writes their own lyrics. And this album came straight from his heart. So instead of worrying about the sub-genre, why don’t you just listen to the message in the music?
  • Disappointing

I'm know this change of direction has a new fan base that loves the sound so I won't go as far as others in calling this "trash". I am, however, extremely disappointed that either Thomas or the record label chose to completely abandon the core fan base that helped him rise to the popularity he's enjoying now. Not a single country song on the album.

It doesn't take a music expert to know that this isn't a traditional country album. With that being said, this is still one of the best albums of 2017. Stop screaming, "Not country! Not country! Rhett isn't trying to fit his music into the country genre. Forget about expecting this to be a country album and listen to the album from a neutral perspective. Rhett continues to put out hit after hit.
