  • Best effort since the early days

This is a good album with many solid tracks. I like it much better then his last few records. That said I truly miss his early blues sound, he was really phenomenal great guitar and great voice for the blues. Trouble is Jonny is more a fan of R&B then blues and this is the direction he has chosen. I'm thankful he decided to make this record more guitar centric and have more of an edge to it. If he would of stuck to blues he'd be on the same level as Joe B, but it was not to be. No matter the style his voice is still incredible and on those rare occasions he decides to really get on that guitar it's always worth the wait.

Its hard to put into words how this blesses/ministers to me.. Feels like almost every speaks right into issues, a struggle, or something God has been showing me.. I'm great to Jesus for this.. Thankful to see Jonny giving his talents back to Jesus.. I'm so pumped to hear more on these notes... AWesome Work Jonny!! I've just been a fan since I stumble on the album turn around... God bless you God to see him in Indianopolis last night. It was pretty rocking!!

This album is what happens to talented blues shredders over time, they get mellow. If not for his voice you would NEVER know this was Lang. Same thing happened to KWS and many other young guns. Check out seasoned guitarist Lance Lopez, Gary Hoey, and Eric Sheckel. They bring it and get down.

This is one of the best albums I've ever heard and I've listened to a lot across multiple genres from blues, rock to classical and jazz. Jonny Lang has emerged as a top artist with all the musical ground he covers on this album. He's moved past being a guitar hero with a blues veteran voice and developed into great songwriter as well. Every song on this album is so well written both musically and lyrically. He's created his own original blues sound on these tracks where he goes back to raw, gritty blues roots with elements of rock, funk, gospel, r&b / soul, and pop blended into very unique songs from track to track. The album has a great mix that has lead me to listening to it non-stop since it was released last Friday. Every track is a standout! Buy the entire album - you won't regret it!!!

I agree with those who say you MUST see him live. I've seen him at least 10 times. There is something extra that comes through in live performances. This album captures that feeling. Many of the tracks have an amazing raw quality. You really hear it in the vocals and guitar. Love it!
