  • I LOVE THE MUSIC, BUT IT WON'T DOWNLOAD INTO A SINGLE ALBUM

I love this record, and bought it ASAP. But Apple split it up into to different albums, none of which contained all the songs. The only was I can listen to the album start-to-finish, is on my phone, using celluar date streaming. THIS A SCAM. SHAME ON YOU APPLE.

Quite honestly, you could spend $14.99 just on No Stars, and you'd own the best song of 2017. But do yourself a favor and purchase this album on vinyl. The pressing is insanely good.

They should have included the theme to "Quantum Leap" because Lynch totally stole that show's ending.
  • Too Much Filler

The soundtrack delivers all the songs that were played in The Return, so if I was judging it strictly on that basis, it would be a five star success. There were some excellent choices, of bands that capture, if not the Twin Peaks sound, then certainly the David Lynch sound. The Chromatics performance of Shadow is the highlight of the album, certainly calling back Julee Cruise, and if you didn't already own Floating Into The Night, getting The World Spins is certainly a huge get. The stunt casting of Nine Inch Nails and Eddie Vedder is a bit over the top, but both their songs land in the series very well. But then there is the filler and the garbage. Sharp Dressed Man?!?! Sharp Dressed Man doesn't belong in Twin Peaks. Viva Las Vegas does not belong in Twin Peaks. And the random over reliance on oldies, again, takes this thing down a bit for me. It's just a bit lazy.

I admire David Lynch so much for how clearly he is able to dissect the human and non-human psyche and dissolve any dualities one may has developed over time. All of his music is so tasteful and placed so perfectly. Every song on here is beautiful and I'm typically not one to purchase from iTunes.
  • Just want 1 song

I only want 1 song from this soundtrack (which is Out of Sand by Eddie Vedder) but I'm certainly not gonna pay $15 for it. I either have or don't care about the rest of the music on this soundtrack. I'll try to find the song elsewhere.

Only a few cuts have been released, but those tracks that have not been released yet, are sure to be treasures. Twin Peaks: The Return is not only obsurdly genius, the featured music has been brilliant and wholly appropriate. The music is a critical element of this "television event." (Much the same way music is a critical aspect of a Quentin Tarantino movie.) Plus, the yet to be released cover by Shawn Colvin of "Viva Las Vegas" is worth the price of the entire album.
