Nick Cave never disappoints; this album's no exception. The songs on here are a little more somber and quiet, more piano driven and gospel/ballad-esque songs. The songs are long and there are plenty of instrumental breaks, but this fits the gloomy feel of these tracks. This record finally feels like Cave has refined his musical aesthetic to a perfect point -- he could have stopped his career here and it would've been a terrific record to call it quits with. Buy this album, give it a listen on a rainy day or late at night, and soak it in. It's wonderfully moody and one of, in my opinion, Cave's finest works. You won't be disappointed either.
